1897 Incoming Mail - cover from Portland to Bangkok affixed with 2c. postage stamp tied by PORTLAND wavy cancellation dated MAR 8, 1897. On reverse bearing NEW YORK transit cds dated MAR 13 and BANGKOK 2 (BSR-06A) arrivial cds dated 22.4.97. On obverse bearing “T” in circle and taxed “15 centimes N.Y.” in circle, also “12” in blue pencil for 12Atts tax. Addressee is Mr. Barrett. U.S. Ambassador in Bangkok at the time. Fine. Rare. (1)
